Two men who reportedly stole merchandise from Macys Wednesday in Manhattan Village are in police custody, said Stephanie Martin of the Manhattan Beach Police Department.
One suspect was captured "right away" near the store; the other, a short time later after police set up a perimeter. The outstanding suspect was found hiding "off the Metro platform" at the station on Marine Avenue, she said.
A Patch reporter in the area said police were "everywhere in the corridor bordered by Rosecrans, Aviation, Marine, Manhattan Beach Boulevard (some on Northrop Grumman property)." Martin said a helicopter from the Hawthorne Police Department aided in the search.
