Police Officer Promoted to Captain

After close to a year as acting captain in the Manhattan Beach Police Department, Tim Hageman was officially promoted to captain Tuesday, said City Manager David Carmany. 

Hageman has been with the department for 22 years, and is responsible for overseeing the field operations bureau, overseeing patrol, traffic, jail operations, SWAT, and parking and animal control. He is a recent graduate of the Leadership Manhattan Beach program.

Hageman, who served four years in the United States Air Force and then became a Los Angeles County Deputy Marshall, was hired by the Manhattan Beach Police Department in 1991. He has worked a number of assignments, including as field training officer, detective and department training manager.

“I am confident in Captain Hageman’s law enforcement proficiency and his ability to successfully provide leadership to the Manhattan Beach Police Department and the community we serve,” stated Police Chief Eve R. Irvine.
