Police Respond to Report of Burglary

Helicopters circled over the neighborhood between PCH and Aviation Blvd.

A home break-in was reported in Manhattan Beach on Saturday afternoon but police could not immediately locate the suspect.

Police responded to a report of a possible burglary in the 1500 block of 3rd Street around 3 p.m. Saturday, said Sgt. Matt Sabosky of the Manhattan Beach Police Department. When officers arrived, the door of the home appeared to be kicked open. Police searched the house but it was determined the suspect had fled the home through the front door before police arrived, Sabosky said.

Helicopters circled over the neighborhood bounded by PCH, Manhattan Beach Boulevard, Aviation Boulevard and Artesia Boulevard.

In an email to Manhattan Beach Patch, a reader said police told him they were looking for a burglary suspect in the area. He said police advised him to stay indoors, and that a description of the suspect was not available yet.
