Possible Bomb Threat Prompts Evacuation at MHS

The sheriff's department is investigating the threat at Malibu High School.

Students at Malibu High School were evacuated Wednesday following a possible bomb threat.

Administrators began evacuating students before police arrived, according to Sgt. James Braden of the Lost Hills/Malibu Sheriff's Station. The students were quickly released to their parents.

The threat was made about 2:30 p.m. Wednesday, Braden said. The call came in during sixth period, which lasts from 2:05-3 p.m.

Deputies swarmed the campus to check out the threat, which was described as having "low credibility," according to a statement sent out by administrators.

After-school athletics continued as usual.

Another bomb threat in May prompted the evacuation of three Malibu schools, but it was determined to be a hoax.

And you conflate that with the bomb threat? I see your point of view. I see it completely. You are trying to sell your house, and you think the light poles 500 yards away from it hurts its value. So you are grasping at anything, everything. to disparage the school, to make it and its supporters look evil and mean and uncaring. I see your point of view, Mr. Lucoff. I see it well.

my house is not for sale. i am not disparaging the school. another incorrect fact in your constant attempt to belittle people with different opinions then yours.

"its the death of a rurral malibu into just another congested beach city." If you really feel this way, why not work hard to help the local small businesses, many who have been here for decades, that have been crucial to creating a rural, warm, small town Malibu? What's more rural than Trancas Nursery? Or Point Pizza? Levon Shoe Repair? I don't know about you but in my book it's not just the land that makes a town special and rural, it's the people.

If it's not your house you are trying to sell (or maybe rent, you are typically vague), it is a house next door. Either way, you have a "Terry Lucoff realtor" sign in front of a house next to the school. I do not belittle YOU, I address the opinions that YOU post. If you do not wish me to address your erroneous or accusatory posts, then you can simply stop making them. I would much rather that you accept reality and the compromise that has been reached. The I would not be interrupted by your blather.

i agree with you. However I am not quite sure of the definition of a local business. Is it an owner who is local or a business that employees people from the community or a landlord who lives in the community. is it bank of america which employess peperdine students or subway which has a local malibu owner. i think its more difficult than you think.
