Road Closures Sunday in Manhattan Beach

Road and parking lot closures will be in place downtown Sunday to accommodate the holiday fireworks extravaganza.

Downtown Manhattan Beach will be packed with people and fun Sunday during the annual holiday fireworks extravaganza which includes a now park, spaghetti feast and more.

The following street closures will be in place:

6 a.m.-10 p.m.: Manhattan Beach Boulevard from The Strand to Manhattan Avenue

2-10 p.m.: Manhattan Beach Boulevard between Manhattan Avenue and Pacific Avenue

3-10 p.m.: Manhattan Avenue between 9th and 12th streets

Parking will not be available or allowed in the following:

  • Upper and lower pier parking lots (6 a.m.-10 p.m.)
  • Bike rack at base of pier (6 a.m.-10 p.m.)
  • Motorcycle parking on Ocean Drive, north of Manhattan Beach Boulevard  (6 a.m.-10 p.m.)
  • 13th Street between Morningside Drive and Valley Drive (12 noon-10 p.m.)
  • The civic center parking lot on 15th Street (3-10 p.m.)
  • 9th Street between Highland Avenue and Manhattan Avenue (open but parking is not allowed, 3-10 p.m.)

Bus routes in the area may also be affected, according to the Manhattan beach Police Department, who advise that you contact your local transportation provider for modified routes/schedules and for more information (Beach Cities Transit, MTA, Ocean Express, etc.)
