Smashed Vehicle Windows and Stolen Delivery Packages

Keep your eyes open and report anyone who looks unusual or suspicious to police.

Smashed vehicle windows and stolen delivery packages have been reported in Manhattan Beach.

Three packages were taken or tampered with, resulting in credit card fraud for one victim, according to the Manhattan Beach Police Department.

One instance happened in the 900 block of The Strand on March 21; the other two occurred in the 1900 block of Harkness St. on March 22 and possibly March 23.

In The Strand incident, the UPS driver confronted the suspect, who tore the package open, did not take any items. He is described as a Hispanic male, approximately 28-35 years old, medium build, 5’6” – 5’9”, bald, clean shaven. vehicle he was driving is described as an older model, white bobtail truck, with a large roll-up door in the back, said MBPD.

Five cases of smashed vehicle windows have happened on five different blocks; the 400 block of Johnson St., 2200 block of Pine Ave., 1900 block of Pacific Ave., 1300 block of Second St. and the 600 block of 35th St. Thieves have made off with items ranging from $15 in quarters from a center console to an empty plastic container in a center console to a duffel bag containing clothes to a ransacking with nothing taken to rummaging through a center console with nothing taken.
