Two Arrests Made at American Martyrs Parish Fair

The annual parish fair raises funds for the American Martyrs Catholic Community's outreach efforts.

Two arrests stemming from the American Martyrs Parish Fair were made by Manhattan Beach police, according to a department report.

A 20-year-old hairstylist was arrested on Oct. 20 for passing counterfeit $50 bills at the fair. The district attorney declined to file charges, citing insufficient evidence, said Shiara Dávila-Morales, chief of the Media Relations Division.

On Oct. 19 at the fair, a 52-year-old unemployed woman was arrested for theft for allegedly stealing fair tickets and baked goods. Patch has yet to ascertain whether or not the woman will face legal action.

In a 20-minute time span at the fair Oct. 19, a suspect stole a purse and sweater that were left unattended.
