Christmas Tree Collection in Manhattan Beach

The city's waste hauler will pickup properly groomed trees.

If you have a Christmas tree to discard, you can place it next to your trash and recycle carts by 6 a.m. for pickup the same day the carts are emptied, said a Waste Management spokesperson. Christmas trees will be collected through Jan. 18 only on a customer's regular collection day.

Trees must be less than 7-feet long or cut into 7-foot sections, and all lights, decorations, tinsel, ornaments, and metal stands must be removed. Flocked trees will be collected but cannot be recycled.

Since Jan. 1 was a holiday for WM employees, service this week will be delayed by one day for customers whose regular pickup day is a Tuesday, Wednesday, Thursday or Friday.

Residents with any additional trash and recycling materials that do not fit into their carts may place those items alongside them bagged or boxed (loose items are not allowed), for pickup through Jan. 11. Bulky items are not included in this pickup service.

If you need to request a bulky item pickup or have any questions, call WM Customer Service at (310) 830-7100.
