City Council Approves Salary Increases for Top-Tier Staff 3-2

Two City Council members disagree with the way the deal is structured and worry about future ramifications for the city.

The city's unrepresented management employees received a hefty salary spike Tuesday night when City Council voted 3-2 to increase their salary to the 75th percentile of comparable cities such as Santa Monica and Redondo Beach.

Councilman Mark Burton, who dissented with Councilman Tony D'Errico, said the deal nets some department directors increases of $29,000 or more, according to the Beach Reporter.

Read what Burton, D'Errico and council members Amy Howorth and Wayne Powell had to say about the deal as reported by the Beach Reporter.
