City Loses Power 2nd Night in a Row

Manhattan Beach firefighters conduct safety checks at impacted residences and businesses along the Rosecrans Ave. business corridor.

For the second night in a row, Southern California Edison customers on and near Rosecrans Ave. between Sepulveda and Aviation boulevards have experienced a power outage.

Wednesday night, about 251 customers went dark around 7:08 p.m. Wires were down and high voltage lines on cars, said David Carmany, Manhattan Beach city manager. Power was restored to most customers within 60 to 90 minutes, according to SCE's online power outage map.

The cause of the unplanned outage remains unknown as of 10:39 p.m. Wednesday.
