Entries Open for 2012 SEED Awards

The South Bay Business Environmental Coalition's annual SEED Awards will be presented Sept. 20 at the Redondo Beach Performing Arts Center.

Applications are now being accepted for the South Bay Business Environmental Coalition's fifth annual Science Environmental Excellence Development Awards Program, which honors businesses, groups and individuals that have made "extraordinary efforts" to improve environmental sustainability, according to the SBBEC's website.

Entrants can compete for six awards: environmental leadership, pollution prevention, education and outreach, resource preservation, innovation and the Steve Uselton Memorial Bridge-Builder Award, according to the application form.

Past SEED award winners and honorees include former Patch columnist Joe Galliani, Culver City's Topsondown and SLOLA, Northrop Grumman, Raytheon in Manhattan Beach and GWS of South Gate.

Applications should be emailed to seed@sbbec.org by June 1. The awards ceremony will take place at the on Sept. 20.
