Fun Daytime 4th of July Celebrations

Two of these free events may involve a bit of a drive, but they could be lots of fun if you don't already have plans. One is right next door in El Segundo.

If you're looking for something to do on the Fourth of July during the day, you might want to check out one of two events on the Palos Verdes Peninsula or wander over to El Segundo next door. Then, too, there's an event that begins in the afternoon at Seaside Lagoon in Redondo Beach and includes fireworks in the evening.

The lawn at Malaga Cove School in Palos Verdes Estates will be the site of the free "An Old-Fashioned Fourth of July," in its 51st offering, beginning at 9:30 a.m. Click here for more information on the event and its activities.

Rancho Palos Verdes  from 11 a.m. to 5 p.m. at Point Vicente Park/Civic Center at 30940 Hawthorne Boulevard, a short distance from Palos Verdes Drive South. A shuttle service will run between the  on Hawthorne Boulevard and the dirt lot adjacent to the Point Vicente Lighthouse on Palos Verdes Drive South.
