A Grand Hometown Fair Parade

Nothing but fun in the sun at the Manhattan Beach Hometown Fair, which is open for fairgoers Sunday from 10 a.m. to 6 p.m.

The 39th Annual Manhattan Beach Hometown Fair began at 10 a.m. with a parade on Valley Drive. Seven classic cars put-putted along a short route to Joslyn Center, following behind tie-dyed clad youngsters who carried the fair banner and a boy scout troop color guard. Manhattan Beach motorcycle officers led the way.

The Mira Costa High School marching band arrived on the heels of the aforementioned paraders and serenaded the crowd after Mayor Nick Tell, Mayor Pro Tem Wayne Powell and volunteer MB Hometown Fair President Maggie Movius spoke.

Kids, youth, adults enjoyed the music as cameras galore snapped photos and shot video.
