Manhattan Beach Businesses Honored for Conservation Efforts

The city and Waste Management recognized the honorees at the city's Earth Day event.

Six Manhattan Beach businesses were honored Saturday as a part of Waste Management’s local Green Business Certification Program. Recognition was given during the 21st Annual Earth Day Celebration and Concert at Polliwog Park.

Waste Management of Southern California, which currently holds the city's waste collection contract, joined the City of Manhattan Beach to honor Le Pain Quotidien, the Green Yogi, Manhattan Towers, LOOK! Optometry, Bella Beach and Manhattan Bread and Bagel for their sustainability efforts.

“The businesses honored have incorporated optimal sustainability practices by reducing waste, conserving water and reducing energy usage,” said Janine Hamner of Waste Management. “They are the leaders in making Manhattan Beach a greater and greener place to live, play, shop and work.”
