MB DUI Stats for Past Two Weekends

A regional task force makes 15 DUI arrests in one shift; MBPD makes arrests for DUI and public intoxication in another specific period of time.

During the St. Patrick's Day weekend, Manhattan Beach Police made three arrests for driving under the influence and six for public intoxication between the hours of 5 p.m. on Friday, March 16 and 4 a.m. on Monday, March 19, according to MBPD.

The same day and time period this past weekend resulted in no DUI arrests and one public intoxication arrest.

The regional DUI task force that covered South Bay cities, including MB, the evening of Saturday, March 17 into the early hours of Sunday, March 18 made 15 DUI arrests, with none of those taking place in Manhattan Beach.

The task force deployed nine cars with two officers per vehicle, according to Sergeant Aaron Corkins of the El Segundo Police Department. Officers Dave Caveney and Bryan Klatt from MB participated in the Saturation Patrol.
