Public Works Open House Saturday
The department opens its yard for visitors to see its equipment, learn about the department and even pick up free compost and nutrient rich mulch.
The Public Works Department's yard, 3621 Bell Avenue next to the National Guard Armory, will be the site of a Public Works Open House Saturday from 10 a.m. to 1 p.m. The event will feature various displays of the services and equipment used by the department in its daily work throughout the city, as well as aerial rides and a GIS demonstration.
Light snacks and special giveaways will be offered during the event, including free compost and mulch [bring your own containers] and palm trees, which are limited and may already be spoken for.
