The Public Works Department's yard, 3621 Bell Avenue next to the National Guard Armory, will be the site of a Public Works Open House Saturday from 10 a.m. to 1 p.m. The event will feature various displays of the services and equipment used by the department in its daily work throughout the city, as well as aerial rides and a GIS demonstration.
Light snacks and special giveaways will be offered during the event, including free compost and mulch [bring your own containers] and palm trees, which are limited and may already be spoken for.
