Rain, Tides and Surf: Here's the MB Forecast

Nature always has its way with us but here are some predictions based on science...

Eleven is the magic number in terms of rain for Manhattan Beach, with the National Weather Service predicting rainfall in the 90226 zip code beginning perhaps around 11 p.m. Tuesday and ending by 11 a.m. Wednesday.

Tides in the ocean near El Segundo are expected to be high at 12:01 a.m. on Tuesday at 5.76 feet, with low tide coming Tuesday at 7:17 a.m. at a negative .74. High tide returns at 1:48 p.m. at 3.38 feet then returns to low at 6:30 p.m. at 1.88 feet. This information comes from the National Oceanic and Atmospheric Association.

According to Kevin with Surfline.com, surfing Tuesday morning won't be very good due to negative low tide, which will leave surf "pretty drained out and walled."
