With the current slim 10 percent chance of rain dwindling to no chance by Friday, the weather in Manhattan Beach is rebounding from last Sunday's downpour and cold.
According to weather.com, by Friday MB has no chance of rain. However, last Sunday's bit of weather produced a weekend rainfall total of 1.21 inches in Manhattan Beach, with Redondo Beach recording 1.68, Torrance 1.23, Hawthorne 1.1 inches and Rolling Hills 0.95 inches, according to the National Weather Service.
Rain affect the quality of ocean waters. The MB beach areas where water bacteria levels are recorded received B grades at three locations and an A at at 40th Street, according to Los Angeles County statistics released at 11:16 a.m. on Monday, March 26. The other areas where bacteria levels are recorded are in front of the 28th Street storm drain, 50 yards south of the 28th Street storm drain and 50 yards south of the Manhattan Beach Pier.
The closest F grade was a C grade recorded in front of the Windward storm drain in Venice and a C grade in Redondo Beach 50 yards south of the Redondo Beach Pier.
