Switch on the Holidays Tonight

Downtown merchants open their doors for a festive evening of food, fun and special buys.

The First Annual Holiday Hunt, the 5th Annual P.S. I Love You Foundation Toy Drive, the 17th Annual Holiday Open House and the 22nd Annual Pier Lighting combine tonight from 6-9 p.m. in downtown Manhattan Beach.

The festive evening officially switches on the holiday season, the pier's holiday lights, and good cheer. Merchants will offer special shopping sales and refreshments, and there will be live music from the Hyperion Outfall Serenaders, not to mention holiday carolers and a reindeer petting zoo.

Unwrapped toys for kids ages 5-12 will be collected by the P.S. I Love You Foundation at the corner of Manhattan Beach Boulevard and Manhattan Avenue throughout the event. If you don't have a toy with you, why not buy one? There are several downtown businesses that offer children's items, including toys. Try Bella Beach Kids, Bloume Baby, or Landis' Labryinth Toy Shop.

While you're downtown tonight, pick up a Clue Sheet from a merchant and let the Holiday Hunt fun begin! Look at your clue and match each one to a business, then go to their store to get a stamp on your sheet, if you’ve guessed correctly. Collect 12 stamps and then drop your sheet into your last store's raffle box for a chance to win one of 20 prizes.
