Los Angeles Laker Is Manhattan Beach Resident Now

The 40-year-old basketball player made waves earlier this month when he said he won't retire. But at least we know where he'll retire TO when the time comes.

Manhattan Beach, you have a new neighbor. And you can be sure about one thing ... he's honest.

Steve Nash, the oldest player in the NBA, said earlier this month that he would not retire from the Lakers this year because he has another year on his contract and he wants the money.

And then just this week, he spent some of that money on a 4,175-square-foot house just two blocks from the sand in Manhattan Beach, reports TMZ.

The LakersNation website just put up photos, if you're into that kind of thing.

But look quickly. According to TMZ, Nash plans to raze the whole thing.

"It's super ugly and outdated," says the gossipy website.

Nash reportedly paid about $4.8 million.

Steve Nash has lived here since at least summer time. And now everyone knows where he lives, which I imagine he can't be thrilled about, Penny. Let's give our neighbors some privacy and leave the gossip for the gossip magazines, not our local small town MB Patch. Where did Liz go? She did small town reporting which was what our small town wants.

I agree. I don't think you'd be too pleased if someone posted a picture of your house and told them that's where you lived and how much you paid. Privacy people.

This is not news and belongs in one of those rags uptown. Who cares were these over-paid athletes live? Plus, their privacy should be respected as well. Not surprisingly though. Patch has been going down hill for a while. Sad.

I appreciate news items like this. Steve Nash has cooperated in videos that include pictures of his house in MB (not this one). I think most MB Patch readers are able to pick the news they want to read, and let celebrities live their lives in peace.

Thanks, Margie. Patch works best when it has a variety of types of stories (at least, I've always tried to mix it up). The number of Facebook likes on this story and the traffic show that many did find it interesting.
