South Bay Botanical Garden and HGEL are thrilled to be offering this unique lecture and 'hands-on' workshop on edible landscaping on Saturday, October 8. This event is designed to introduce you to

the re-emerging aspect of gardening known as edible landscaping and its design elements. The class will cover:

  •  Overview of the 'secrets' to raising edibles within an ornamental landscape - soil management, organic strategies, knowing your plant's needs and more
  • Design principles such as using the color wheel, structure, texture and height in edible landscape design
  • "Design your own edible landscape" - during the second hour you will participate in a 'hands-on' workshop, applying the skills you just learned designing and planting a 'mini' edible landscape container that you can take home.
The fees include a materials fee and are as follows:  SCBG members - $25  Non members - $30
