It's Snow Day at Manhattan Academy!

The annual event brings the white stuff to Manhattan Beach.

Manhattan Academy students got to hit the slopes at school last Friday to celebrate the unofficial Ski Week in Manhattan Beach, when the public school district closes for a week and lots of families go on ski trips.

The Manhattan Academy Snow Day is an annual event, sponsored by the Family Council, the Academy's version of a PTA, said Communications Director Jessica Dotter. The special day includes sledding, snow play, hot chocolate and lots of fun and is a great way for families to get to know each and be active in the school community.

Parent volunteers, "a smidgen of administrative supervision" and some willing and able sledders was all that it took to bring the magic of Snow Day to fruition.

Snow Day is just one of the many family-centered events Manhattan Academy hosts throughout the year, said Dotter.
