MB Students Honor Dr. Seuss

"Read Across America Day" prompts students and teachers to read Dr. Seuss books out loud as well as dress in costumes.

Dr. Seuss' birthday Friday prompted kids of all ages to celebrate during the 16th annual “Read Across America Day," sponsored by the National Education Association.

In Manhattan Beach, students at Robinson Elementary, particularly first graders, dressed as their favorite Dr. Seuss character and participated in read alouds of Dr. Seuss books. Of course, teachers got into the spirit of the day, too!

Author Theodore Geisel, aka Dr. Seuss, would be 109 years old this weekend.

Throughout the nation, local libraries, schools and parents honored Dr. Seuss in fine fashion.
