Memorial Service for Bob Fish Dec. 8 at Mira Costa

The longtime high school teacher and coach has died at the age of 70. See a photo gallery of Fish here.

A public memorial service for Bob Fish who died on Nov. 25 from pancreatic cancer will be held on Saturday, Dec. 8 in the auditorium at Mira Costa High School.

Fish is remembered fondly by those who knew him, including Redondo Union High School rival coach Bob Leetch, who says Fish had a heart of gold and was "a very kind, caring, bright and grumpy ol' cuss" who "always did the right thing."

Fish most recently taught English and for 23 years coached cross country and track and field at Mira Costa. He was the school's athletic director for 10 years.

The parent of a former MCHS cross country and track student has created and posted an online photo gallery of Fish. Click here to view it.
