Mira Costa Boys Lacrosse Wins in Overtime

The victory marks the 100th win in boys lacrosse.

The Mira Costa boys lacrosse team beat Los Alamitos High 12-11 in overtime Wednesday night in the Knight's Challenge, according to the LAXPOWER website. The victory was the Mustangs' 100th win in MCHS lacrosse history.

Alec Weaver scored the game winning goal with 1:38 left in overtime. Johnny Goodlad had 11 saves. Other Mustangs who scored were Dakota Randall, three goals, two assists; Ryan Silver, three goals; Christopher O'Brien, two goals, five assists; Austin Hafdell, 2 goals, and Mark Matsushima, 1 goal, 1 assist. Alec Hoag added an assist as did Weaver.

In his second year with the team, head coach Chris Jewett's goal is for the team to defend its CIF Southern Section, North Division title, according to the team's booster club website.

On Saturday, March 3, Mira Costa will travel to San Clemente High School to play the Tritons.
