Student to Represent Manhattan Beach Across the Pond
Bridget Johnson, 11, will travel to Ireland and the U.K. in July as a junior ambassador.
With a nearly three-week stint in the British Isles as an ambassador for the city of Manhattan Beach, the start of Bridget Johnson's summer vacation promises not to be that of an average fifth grader.
On July 1, she will join a group of 17 other students across Southern California in representing her hometown on a 19-day tour through Ireland, England, Wales and Scotland. The trip was arranged through the ambassador program of the People to People organization, a widely recognized educational travel provider for the last 50 years.
Johnson's trip is the culmination of nearly seven months of fundraising, special classes and hard work.
