Beautiful Day for Just Being on the Water

Even though the latest round of energy continues to fade, making surfing just so-so in Manhattan Beach, why not simply paddle out and enjoy the view until a wave you can catch comes along.

Good Thursday morning surfers, I'm Surf Junkie Jeff with your Manhattan Beach Patch surf report. Well, our latest run of action is continuing to back down in size, so most spots in this neck of the woods are offering mainly small surf, with maybe an occasional playful size set.

We're starting off with some semi-clean conditions, with many spots seeing texture or light bump on the water. Taking a look at the waves, we've got mainly residual northwest windswell and very little south southeast and southwest energy.

That recipe is providing some fairly soft sectiony lines, with a few fun ones. Most Manhattan Beach spots are running about knee to waist high, with the top spots picking up a few plus sets.

At 7:23 this morning, the tide climbs up to a 3.9 high, which will have many breaks a little soft and slow early to mid-morning. Things should improve a bit once the tide drops a bit, but before it completely drains out to a 0.9 low at 1:20 this afternoon, according to the National Oceanic and Atmospheric Administration.

If you're going to get wet, you'll most likely want to wear at least a 3/2 fullsuit for that a.m session, with the water temperature averaging between 57 and 58 degrees. See ya in the water!
