Clean Conditions and Playful Waves

The surf in Manhattan Beach builds a bit, resulting in playful size waves and fairly clean conditions.

Good Thursday morning surfers, I'm Surf Junkie Jeff with your Manhattan Beach Patch surf report. Well, it's picked up a bit, with some more playful size waves coming through. So, you might want to grab a quick session at some point during the day.

We're seeing some fairly clean conditions early on, with a combination of energy in the water. There's mostly a decent dose of northwest wind and groundswell and some very minimal south southwest energy.

That recipe is offering some fairly soft sectiony lines, with a few fun ripable short corners. Most Manhattan Beach spots are showing knee to stomach high waves, with the top combo breaks pulling chest high waves, with maybe a plus set.

At 6:53 this morning the tide pushed up to 4.8 high which will have some spots sort of shut down early on. Your best bet is once that tide backs down a bit, but before it eventually drains out to a negative 0.1 low at 1:19 this afternoon, according to the National Oceanic and Atmospheric Association.

If you're going to get wet, well that water temperature is still pretty chilly, so throw on a 4/3 fullsuit and possibly the booties, with it averaging between 55 and 57 degrees. See ya in the water!
