Decent Dose of Energy and Playful Waves

You could have some fun paddling out and catching waves today.

Waking up with the waves on Wednesday, I'm Surf Junkie Jeff with your Manhattan Beach Patch surf report. Well, there's still a decent dose of energy out there, with most spots in this neck of the woods offering some playful-size waves.

The conditions are starting off semi-clean, with some texture or bump on the surface. As far as the surf goes, we've got mainly minor to decent leftover northwest windswell and very little south southwesterly energy in the water.

That recipe is offering some crumbly and lumpy sectiony lines, with a few fun shoulders. Most spots in Manhattan Beach are running about knee to chest high, with the focal points pulling an occasional plus set.

At 6:31 this morning, the tide climbed up to a 3.9 high and then drops to a 0.7 low at 12:48 this afternoon, according to the National Oceanic and Atmospheric Association.

If you're planning on paddling, throw on at least a 3/2 fullsuit, with the water temperature averaging between 57 and 58 degrees. Have fun out there!
