Dynamic Duo of Jennings and Fuerbringer Rise Again to Win Manhattan Beach Open

The former beach volleyball greats show the youngsters how it's done.

Casey Jennings and Matt Fuerbringer did the unthinkable Sunday: they won the Manhattan Beach Open, consistently slamming points into the sand against No. 1 seeds Sean Rosenthal and Phil Dalhausser, 21-18, 21-23 and 15-12.

In riveting play, the teams went at each other, playing matches that set the crowd on fire, not to mention the players, particularly Jennings, who was on the AVP tour from 2000-09 with Fuerby when they won six of the 79 tournaments they played in. They last competed as a team in 2009.

Sunday's victory is the duo's first Manhattan Beach Open title and will get Jennings' name on a celebratory plaque on the Manhattan Beach Pier where his wife has five and earned a sixth Sunday, as well.
