Food, Fashion and Wine Festival Featuring The Dinner of Champions Comes to Raleigh Studios in Manhattan Beach 

Event to Honor Linda Hanley, Chris Marlowe & Steve Obradovich

Proceeds to Benefit Eric Fonoimoana’s Dig 4 Kids Education Foundation

Manhattan Beach, August 16, 2010 --  The Manhattan Beach Open Dinner of Champions is an annual event honoring the past volleyball stars.  This year’s Dinner of Champions will take place at Raleigh Studios in Manhattan Beach on August 21 from 6-10pm and include food and wine tasting from some of the South Bays premier restaurants.  The Festival will center around a tribute to three legends of volleyball, Linda Hanley. Chris Marlowe and Steve Obradovich.  Portions of the proceeds benefit Olympic Gold Medalist Eric Fonoimoana’s Education Foundation, Dig 4 Kids.  

“I grew up in Manhattan Beach and as a kid, I loved watching the legends of beach volleyball compete. The Manhattan Beach Open Dinner of Champions was established to remember those who have won the Manhattan Beach Open and to thank them for being a role model and ambassador of our sport. I take pride in doing this event for the legends who paved the way for my own career and I appreciate what they have done for the sport of volleyball,” says Eric Fonoimoana, Olympic Gold Medalist and founder of the Dig 4 Kids Education Foundation. 

The Food, Fashion and Wine Festival will be emceed by current MISS CALIFORNIA USA® Nicole Johnson and AVP announcer Chris "Geeter" McGee.   Raleigh Movie Studios backlot, NY Street, will be lined with local restaurants serving their favorites dishes, wine tastings by One Hope, Rosenthal and Thomas Halby, and a live art show by Andy Brown.   The event will conclude with a professionally directed fashion show.  Swim and casual wear by Body Glove, Sledge, Jayime Jean, O'Neill, Lost Bird and Michael Antonio will be modeled by MISS CALIFORNIA USA® contestants and Professional Volleyball Athletes.  The Fashion, Food and Wine Festival will give both participants and fans of the Manhattan Beach AVP Open (Aug.19th – Aug.22nd), one of the largest events in the South Bay, a chance to meet and mingle with legends of the game while eating good food, sipping great wine and enjoying the show while supporting a local cause.  

Ticket Prices: $75 and can be purchased at dig4kids.org or at the door.
