Fading Surf Offers a Few Fast Corners

The surf backs down a bit but there are still waves to catch.

Waking up with the waves on Monday, I'm Surf Junkie Jeff with your Manhattan Beach Patch surf report. Well, it's continuing to fade, but there are still some fun-size waves to be had, especially at those top combo breaks.

The conditions are nice and glassy from the start, with a mixture of easing energy. We're seeing mostly leftover south southwest swell and some minor west northwest and northwest energy.

That recipe is offering some kinda crumbly sectiony lines, with a few fast corners. Most Manhattan Beach spots are seeing knee to belly high waves, with the focal points pulling some chest high sets.

At 10:59 later this morning, the tide drops to a 0.3 low which will have some spots in need of water late morning. The tide then climbs back up to a 3.4 high at 6:18 this evening, according to the National Oceanic and Atmospheric Administration.

If you're planning on paddling, break out at least a 3/2 fullsuit with the water temperature averaging between 57 and 59 degrees. See ya in the water!!
