Manhattan Beach Runners Place in Top 20 in Hometown 10K

Runners from Manhattan Beach made a nice showing in the Hometown 10K Run.

Seven Manhattan Beach residents finished in the top 20 in Saturday morning's 36th Hometown 10K Run and a bevy of teenagers came in right behind.

Matthew Miller, 26, finished in third place overall in 33 minutes and 38 seconds. His time earned him first place in the men's 24-29 division. Miller finished nine seconds behind David Rosales, 21, of San Pedro.

Tito Lezama, no city or age given, finished in first place overall in 32 minutes and 29 seconds.

Other Manhattan Beach racers in the top 20 were Kenneth Arehart, 29, in 10th place overall, Ryan Ung, 27, in 11th place, Brandon Shirazi, 16, in 14th place, Patrick Sweeney, 34, in 16th place, Mark Kresser, 37, in 18th place, and Matthew O'Brien, 16, in 20th place.

Following in the top 20's footsteps were Ethan Williams, 16, in 22nd place, David Hodges, 16, in 24th place, Bram Osterhout, 16, in 25th place, and William Crader, 29, in 30th place.

Susan Hoffman, 52, was the second woman to cross the finish line and took first place in her division of female 50-54 and 41st overall. Jennifer Ashworth, 51, took second place in the division behind Hoffman, was the sixth woman to cross the finish line and took 64th overall.

Other Manhattan Beach runners to cross the finish line in the top 100 overall include Jc Ohmstede, Nicholas Pappas, Christopher Bennett, Ryan Locicero, Andrew Costley, Ted Iantuono, David Ebenhack, Joaquin Hartman, Eric Seltenrich, Luke Myers, Will Longyear, Brian Tinker, Kevin Lohner, Caleb Llorin, Joshua Cooperman, Lisa Herman, Michael Monaghan, Kate Myers, Kai Frank, Xavier Court, Chris Miller, Sterling Hathaway, Justin Warfield, Nicholas Burdiak, Alex Fry and Yves-Marc Courtines.
