MB Men Race Baby Buggies to Finish Line

Manhattan Beach men fared slightly better than their female stroller-pushing counterparts in Sunday's Super Bowl Baby Buggy 10K race. Here are the results.

Tom Sheets, 36, was the first Manhattan Beach resident to cross the finish line in Sunday's Super Bowl Baby Buggy 10K in Redondo Beach, doing so in 49 minutes, 34 seconds, according to race results posted online.

The next MB resident to come in after Sheets, who placed 26th overall in the Baby Buggy race, was Brandon Bentley, 40, who completed the course in 52 minutes, 51 seconds, finishing 38th.

Other MB finishers in the top 100 include Steve Zipperman, Brooke Zipperman, Scott Rackett, John Burge, Chris Adams, Julie Stewart, Kat Billesdon and Kelsey Good.

The 1st place winner overall was Scott Rickert, 37, Los Angeles, in 36 minutes and 21 seconds. The fastest woman was Allyson Estess, 31, in 41 minutes and 45 seconds.

To give a perspective on running with and without a buggy, the top 10K racer, Anthony Solis, 22, Barstow, finished in 30 minutes and 46 seconds. The top MB finish in the 10K was Ryan Ung, 26, in 35 minutes and 30 seconds.
