MB Youth Dominate Tournament

Two Manhattan Beach girls took the 14 & Under doubles category at a California Beach Volleyball Association tournament Wednesday on the sand near Marine Avenue.

Partners Presley Forbes and Katie Barkley won the category that had Manhattan Beach written all over it, with residents Chloe Markland [second place team], Grace Campbell and Mia Mason [third place team],  and Pearl Mazza [tie for third] scoring lots of points in the day-long competition.

Roy McFarland and Rob Mullahey of Manhattan Beach took second place in the the Boys 14 & Under doubles, with Tanner Smith and Sam Caldwell of Hermosa Beach taking first.

MBers also claimed the first through third places in Boys 12 & Under, with Niko Forbes and Bobby Barkley placing first, Luke Grafton and Trevor Todd taking second, and Brady and Harry Wedbush of tying for third. 

Three out of the four players whose teams took second and third place  in the Girls 12 & Under category are from Manhattan Beach, respectively, Emma Reisig and the team of Kelli Barry and Lea Ungar.

Keith Waddell of Manhattan Beach was part of the team that took third place in the Boys 18 & Under category.
