Not Much Surf for Surfing
You couldn't see much due to the fog this morning but the conditions aren't very good anyway.
Good Thursday afternoon surfers, I'm Surf Junkie Jeff with your Manhattan Beach Patch surf report. Well, good luck if you tried to check the surf from the beach this morning. Yep, we saw some pretty thick fog parked along the water's edge, and as far as the surf goes, we're dealing with more minimal energy out there today.
The conditions are fairly clean, with some texture or even light bump. We've got the continued combination of mostly southwest swell and a tad of northwest energy in the mix.
That recipe is providing some fairly weak sectiony lines, with a few decent corners, with a log or maybe a fish of some sort. Most Manhattan Beach spots are running about knee high, with the top combo breaks pulling thigh high waves, with a few waist high plus sets.

Checking the tides, according to the National Oceanic and Atmospheric Administration, at 5:30 this morning it drained out to a negative 0.5 low which had many spots in need of water and pretty inconsistent early on. Your best bet is to surf once that tide fills in a bit. It eventually pushes up to a 3.4 high at 12:04 this afternoon.
If you're going to get wet, well that water temperature is still on the cool side, so throw on at least a 3/2 fullsuit or maybe even a 4/3, with it hanging between 57 and 59 degrees. Good luck out there!
