Small and Weak Energy Calls for Log or Fish

High tide is at 10:21 a.m., low tide at 3:22 p.m.

Good Tuesday morning surfers, I'm Surf Junkie Jeff with your Manhattan Beach Patch surf report. Well, if you like the small stuff, then it might be worth getting wet, but otherwise I would probably forget about it. Yep, we're not seeing much energy along this stretch of sand.

The conditions are starting off fairly clean, with some spots seeing some texture on them. However, don't be surprised if things begin to worsen sooner than later.  We're seeing a minimal mix of mainly minor northwest windswell and just a touch of south southwest energy in the water.

That recipe is offering some pretty weak sectiony lines, with a few workable ones on a log or maybe a fish of some sort. Most Manhattan Beach spots are running about knee to thigh high, with the top combo breaks pulling waist high waves.

Checking the tides, according to the National Oceanic and Atmospheric Administration, at 10:21 later this morning it climbs up to a 4.1 high, which will have some spots a little soft and slow mid-morning. The tide then drops to a 1.6 low at 3:22 this afternoon.

If you must get wet, throw on at least a 3/2 fullsuit, with the water temperature averaging between 58 and 60 degrees. Good luck out there.

FYI. County health officials urge surfers and swimmers to stay out of the ocean for at least 72 hours after a rain due to the likelihood of increased bacterial levels, especially near river mouths, storm drains and harbor entrances.
