Small Playful Waves, Maybe

Surf isn't so hot right now, but go ahead and get in the water, just for fun.

Waking up with the waves on Wednesday, I'm Surf Junkie Jeff with your Manhattan Beach Patch surf report. Well it's looking like kind of a repeat of yesterday. Overall it's hanging in the small to playful size range along most of this stretch of coast.

The conditions are starting off pretty clean, with some light northeasterly winds which are likely to pick up throughout the day.

We're seeing a combination of mostly steep angled northwest swell and maybe a tad of southwesterly energy in the water. That recipe is providing some fast semi-wally lines, with some nice shoulders to snag.

Most Manhattan Beach spots are running about knee to stomach high, with the focal points pulling some chest high waves, with a few plus sets.

Taking a look at the tides...well, there's not much change...at 7:21 this morning it drops to a 1.6 low and then climbs back up to a 2.7 high at 12:44 this afternoon, according to the National Oceanic and Atmospheric Administration.

If you're going to grab a session, a 3/2 fullsuit and maybe the booties will do the job, with the water temperature averaging between 57 and 58 degrees. See ya in the water!
