Soccer Parents Battle It Out at Jeff Goodrich Classic
Parents of Manhattan Beach school kids compete in a World Cup-style soccer tourney, with proceeds benefiting the Manhattan Beach Athletic Foundation.
Dads and a few moms took to the field at Waller Stadium on Saturday for the fourth Jeff Goodrich Parents' Soccer Classic. The daylong tournament, renamed this year in honor of its recently deceased founder, groups parents according to schools in a series of single-elimination soccer games.
Pacific took this year's title after defeating Robinson 3-2 in overtime.
All proceeds from the classic go toward the Manhattan Beach Athletic Foundation, and funds raised from raffles are being donated to the Goodrich family.
