Surf on a Log or Fish Today

Fairly small energy along this stretch of sand, so you might want to head out of town for better waves.

Good Thursday morning surfers, I'm Surf Junkie Jeff with your Manhattan Beach Patch surf report. Well, there's not much happening along this stretch of sand. So, if you're looking for some more sizable surf, you'll probably want to get out of town!

The conditions are fairly clean early on, with a mixture of mostly small south southwest swell and very little northwest energy in the water. That recipe is offering some pretty soft and crumbly lines, with a few fun ones on a log or a fish.

Most Manhattan Beach surf spots are running about ankle to waist high, with the focal points that pick up the southerly energy seeing a few bigger sets.

Taking a look at the tides thanks to the National Oceanic and Atmospheric Association, at 6:45 this morning it drained out to a negative 0.9 low, which will have many spots lacking water early to mid-morning. The tide then pushes back up to a 3.5 high at 1:22 this afternoon.

If you're planning on paddling, you can breakout that 3/2 fullsuit, with the water temperature averaging between 57 and 59 degrees. Good luck out there!
