Waves Building a Bit

Should be best from 1:41 p.m. on when tide drops to 0.0.

Good Tuesday morning surfers, I'm Surf Junkie Jeff with your Manhattan Beach Patch surf report. Well, it looks like we're seeing a bit of an increase out there today. Now...it's nothing solid that's for sure, but you can definitely find some playful size waves.

The conditions are mostly clean early on, with a mixture of energy in the water. There's some small to decent northwest swell and some minor southerly swell in the background.

That recipe is providing some sorta soft sectiony lines, with a few rippable shoulders. Most spots in Manhattan Beach are running about knee to maybe stomach high, with the standout combo breaks pulling a few chest high sets.

At 6:59 this morning, the tide climbed up to a 4.6 high which will have many spots pretty full and inconsistent mid-morning.  So if you have the time...wait for that tide to drop a bit before paddling out. It eventually drains out to a 0.0 low at 1:41 this afternoon, according to the National Oceanic and Atmospheric Administration.

If you're going to grab a session, throw on at least a 3/2 fullsuit and maybe the booties, with the water temperature averaging between 56 and 57 degrees. See ya in the water!

FYI...County health officials urge surfers and swimmers to stay out of the ocean for at least 72 hours after a rain due to urban runoff, especially near river mouths, storm drains and harbor entrances.
