The Art Deco Society: Grand Party on the Queen Mary

If you love art deco, come and join us at the Queen Mary all weekend long!

The Art Deco Society and the Queen Mary invite you to the Art Deco Festival this Labor Day Weekend.

I knew about the festival because J.C. Launi enthused about it during our talk last year.  It's organized by the Art Deco Society of Los Angeles.  In particular, one John Thomas, significant other to J.C. Launi.

I will be going for the vintage shopping.  I will be there, hopefully on Saturday, poking through the goodies for sale and on display.  Vintage clothing, vintage cars.  I want to visit the Newsroom Parlor where there will be period radio shows and activities.

If you like to dine and dance, you'll want to be at the Art Deco Grand Ball on Saturday.  Historic menu, vintage tunes.  It's a great time to break out your fancy dress.  And for the after-party, those who don't turn into pumpkins at midnight can relive history at the Starlight Lounge After-party.

On Sunday, relax on the deck with your blankie and a martini for the Vintage Movie Under the Stars: The Big Broadcast of 1936.

The Queen Mary is the absolutely best place for a gathering such as this.  Herself a period piece, she is a showcase of 1920's glamor. She is one of the best examples and landmarks of Art Deco style in the world.
