Baseball Boys One Win Away From Jr. World Series

The Manhattan Beach Little League Junior All Stars are one win away from advancing to the Little League Junior World Series after beating Washington's state champions 10-4 Tuesday in Vancouver, Washington.

The Manhattan Beach team will play the winner of an Oregon vs. Hawaii game, for the Western Region championship title Wednesday at 6 p.m.

Pitcher Trevor Franklin earned the win with relief help from Jackson Michalski and Blake Hammerstein as the boys from the South Bay ran their post-season record to an impressive 17-1.

The West Regional winner advances to the Little League World Series in Taylor, Michigan, where the competition begins this Sunday. 

The boys on the team are Reese Alexiades, Matt Beserra, Tommy Bothwell, Zack Chan, Brett Davis, Trevor Franklin, Blake Hammerstein, Ryan May, Jackson Michalski, Rollie Nichols, Will Proctor, Hunter Tiedemann and Robert White.

They are coached by Ira Smith, manager, Keith Ramsey, coach, and Jeff Proctor, coach.

The team won District, Section, Sub-Regional and Southern California Regional tournaments on their way to the tournament in Washington.
