North Manhattan Beach business owners will welcome visitors to their annual Summer Stroll Thursday from 5:30 to 9:30 p.m.

The free event, in which businesses offer special tastes, giveaways and offers, gives the public the opportunity to become acquainted with the ocean-close north end of town that surrounds Rosecrans Avenue near its intersection with Highland Avenue.

Two relatively new shops in North MB will feature some seriously good eats: will be handing out freshly baked almond chocolate chip cookies and the makers of Health Ade [the artisan Kombucha that is made in the shop] will be on hand handing out samples, and The Ripe Choice will offer edible spoons appetizers and desserts--a Cilantro Shrimp w/Avocado and Mango on Edible Corn and Lime spoons, Smore's on edible chocolate spoons and petite "grown-up" grilled cheese sandwiches.

Cake Bakeshop, which changed hands about a year ago when staff baker Laura Mandracchia took over as owner, will also hold a drawing for a 9-inch celebration cake.
