Marina Krim's Lulu and Leo Fund Launches to Help Others

As she walked through Manhattan Beach in a daze, the young mom found something that prompted her to start a foundation in honor of her two young children.

Longtime Manhattan Beach resident and young mother of three Marina Krim had the unthinkable happen: She came home to find her 6- and 2-year-old children dead last October, apparently the victim of their nanny.

Now, Marina and husband Kevin are connecting with their two deceased children Lulu and Leo through their nonprofit the Lulu and Leo Fund. On Nov. 6, the nonprofit, which aims to support innovative art programs for children, held its first benefit, according to an article on Myrtle Beach online.

The nonprofit intends to award its first grant to Free Arts NYC, specifically supporting the "Parents and Children Together with Art" program in which families work to increase communication and teamwork, according to the article. Free Arts NYC is a nonprofit that provides under-served children and families with mentoring programs through the arts.
