What's Up: Skateboard Park, Free Choir Concert, Yuletide Runs, Free Parking

The city is looking into where to put a skateboard park.

Here are five things for your Monday and beyond:

  1. A potential skateboard park is the subject of the Monday night Parks and Recreation Committee meeting at 6:30 p.m. in council chambers, 1400 Highland Ave., according to an online agenda.
  2. The Mira Costa High School Choirs will stage a free winter concert, "This Shining Night," Monday at 7 p.m. in the auditorium. The school's address is 1401 Artesia Blvd. The auditorium is near the administration building between parking lots that border Artesia.
  3. The Manhattan Beach Yuletide 5K takes place Saturday at 5:30 p.m. The event includes a 5K Run/Walk for all ages, the Elves Dash 1K (ages 7-12) at 6:30 p.m., the Little Elves 400m (ages 3-6) at 6:40 p.m. and Crawlers 50m (2 years old and younger) at 6:50 p.m. Sign up online. More details here.
  4. The city is offering free holiday parking. Details here.
