What's Up: Possible City Manager Dismissal, Mayor's Walk, School Board Elections Tuesday,

Here are five things for your Monday and beyond in Manhattan Beach:

  1. Join Mayor David Lesser for a casual "Meet, Walk and Chat" Monday at 8 a.m. at Peet's Coffee and Tea, 328 Manhattan Beach Blvd. You might want to ask him why City Council is discussing whether or not to keep current City Manager David Carmany employed. Details here.
  2. City Manager David Carmany could be dismissed from his position Monday when City Council discusses his employment with the city beginning at 10 a.m. in council chambers, 1400 Highland Ave. Public comments taken at the beginning of the meeting.
  3. Be sure to cast your vote Tuesday for three of the four candidates running to be on the school board of the Manhattan Beach Unified School District. Click on each name to read a Q&A with the candidate: Jennifer Cochran, Christine Cronin-Hurst, Kathleen Paralusz and Ellen Rosenberg.
  4. Make sure you're "Patched In" to get alerts on breaking news as it happens in town this week (and after), make sure you are signed up to get our emails. Click on the 'get the daily newsletter' at the top, right corner of this page. (If you see something that says, "hi, username," then you're already registered. In that case, click on "email settings" under the drop-down tab under your name.)
  5. The Mira Costa Mustangs will host the Redondo Union High School Sea Hawks in a varsity football clash between the two cross-town longtime rivals Friday beginning at 7 p.m. in Waller Stadium. Go, Sea Hawks, go! Who do you think will win?
