It's a great way to get the…Read More word out about upcoming events and the event is posted online as soon as you create & post it. There's no waiting for an editor's approval or anything like happens in traditional media where you "submit" something for consideration and perhaps it gets published or listed in a calendar. Same is true of posting an announcement on MB Patch.

Label me "negative", "pesky", or whatever you like, but if…Read More you're truly interested, please consider asking any one of our city councilmembers, all of whom repeatedly commit to improving public engagement, if they don't agree that this event should have been better publicized.
Sure, it was a positive event -- it's largely an educational project, and a great one. All the more reason that better publicity (even just utilizing the previously mentioned, regularly utilized tools) should have been a routine part of the event plan.
Perhaps "you can't please everyone", but that's no justification for mediocre effort. I believe it the duty of our elected and appointed city officials to do a better job of reaching out to the community than they did here.
I sincerely hope you (and others) agree, but thanks for the opportunity to clarify in any case.
