You can't improve the education system without making the tough choices like implementing theRead More Wisconsin reforms. Next you have to stop Common Core in its tracks. Common Core is just a way for the federal government to institute another phase of Agenda 21 by taking over the education system at all levels. The education of our kids must be done at the local level and not in D.C. or Sacramento. There has to be tenure reforms that makes it easier to terminate bad teachers who are tenured. At the same time we have to reward teachers who are doing an excellent job. We also need to recognize that not all students are created equally when it comes to grey cells. We have to stop trying to dumb down the bright kids and give them the opportunity they need to fly to new heights. Some kids are going to end up hamburger flippers while others will be rocket scientists or the next Steve Jobs or perhaps the next Herbert von Karajan. The answer is not to dump more money into this bottom less pit that gives us no results.

Oh and Al, I know it's also Ted Lieu's M.O., but when you send emails out to people asking for help,Read More you shouldn't block them on your facebook page for simply asking a question.

I just have to shake my head. You now have a completely democrat controlled state, who wanted moreRead More socialism, and now that you've got it? sheesh. Make up your minds. Oh!! and I'm sure that you know that socialism doesn't work forever, because sooner or later, you run out of other people's money. Maybe if we get less money, we'll get less social engineering. (see the post above). Sickening....boys going into girls bathrooms. Young girls taken to get an abortion without parents knowledge or consent. Oh perhaps soon you'll just have a big box of "Plan B" at the office counter. You guys broke it. When the masses figure that out, maybe finally we'll start electing thinking adults as our representatives again.

He was arrested 8 years ago for indecent exposure. You've never peed in an alley Johnny? That'll getRead More you arrested here by the uptight, nothing better to do, MB Police. I agree with you about real sex offenders but they blowing this totally out of proportion.

An unfortunate choice of words I think, I do agree staring at someone isn't a crime but I have beenRead More a victim of a drive by in a parking lot where a man slowed to a stop and was staring at my nieces 7 and 9 yrs old as we were crossing the lot. His staring was creepy in a way that you just know it's a problem. So I walked a tad closer and big surprise he was masturbating while staring at them. The girls would not have seen him thank God since he was sitting in his car and didn't really notice him. I am taller and stepped closer because I knew something was wrong with him just by the way he was looking at them. it is a look that makes your skin crawl or the hairs on your neck stand up, its just something you know isn't right and you have to trust your instincts. I got his licenses number and the police went to his house where it turned out he was a repeat offender. Another parking lot incident many years later again a man slowed down watching me this time walking down the street, he was in a parking lot slowly driving kind of behind me as I walked on the sidewalk, I've seen that look before so I started yelling at him and flagged down a police officer who just happened to be driving by. The man was masturbating and did his business leaving it on the pavement of the parking lot. nice huh! Kids are targets and need to be acutely aware of their surroundings all the time. It's too bad all the other BS gets in the way because Johnny's right the repeat rate is almost 100%

Oh, have the liberals gotten to you too 3 strike and Dave? He was a previously arrested sexRead More offender, do you have any idea what the rate of relapse is for sex offenders? It is almost one hundred percent. But, some liberal CA judge will slap him on the wrist and probably sentence him to "community service" where another relapse is imminent. Put them on an island or jail--I hear jail is worse for sex offenders.

FYI, they are trying to gut the French program in favor of Chinese, but what they aren't makingRead More explicit is that funding is coming from the Chinese govt. The Confucius Institutes are a direct arm of the Chinese. Why are the Chinese spending half a billion dollars on American education? Given their atrocious human rights records how comfortable should we be with this?

All California residents ought be aware of the provisions of our state's 60 year old open meetingRead More law, the Ralph M. Brown Act, that REQUIRES our elected bodies (e.g., MBUSD Board of Trustees, MB City Council) to hold all meetings in public, with very few exceptions. The Brown Act also requires there to be opportunity for public participation on most every agenda item in these public meetings, and mandates the advance public posting of agendas for such meetings -- agendas which must include descriptions of all items to be addressed. Rare exceptions where 'closed session' meetings are permitted include only a few, very specific subject matters such as, for example, litigation, personnel issues and real estate negotiations. Any such closed sessions are also required to have agendas publicly posted in advance. “The people of this State do not yield their sovereignty to the agencies which serve them,” states the preamble to the Ralph M. Brown Act. “The people, in delegating authority, do not give their public servants the right to decide what is good for the people to know and what is not good for them to know. The people insist on remaining informed so that they may retain control over the instruments they have created.”

Using the above figures. We have 16 trillion dollars of debt, this will save us 1.2 trillion in 8Read More years. Which with a little math states we pay off 1.92% of it. My question, who, what or where is making interest on the 14.8 trillion, that we aren't paying off?
