I would really like to find out why the horse got scared. There was another instance in another cityRead More when a driver of a vehicle deliberately scared the horse with a truck horn right next to the poor horse. Not once but several times.

This little boy is very clever to have figured out how to crawl inside the machine. He deservesRead More more attentive parents. I hope they are court ordered to parenting classes. For what it's worth, approximately 30 years ago, I saw a toddler swathed in diapers wander out the front door of his home. The door was wide open. He started walking down the street. I parked my car and gently held him in my arms, looking for a family member to appear. No such luck. The toddler was nonverbal and unafraid. So we walked to the police station across the street. The cops on duty immediately recognized him & thought it was funny. The toddler was a known wanderer and the cops assured me he had a loving family. REALLY? They took him back home and did not write an incident report. It disturbed me then and now that the parents and police were so nonchalant. Child neglect is amusing to some people. I am not one of them.

Natick news - Nebraska news -- well at least they both start with the letter N. I said this before IRead More think everyone should not open any article on their local Patch unless they see the name of their community in it. They are trying to trick up with news. Marianne Williamson. Patch file photo.
Lorelei Shark April 16, 2014 at 08:44 am
I support Marianne Williamson because she reflects my values. I want my country back. I want myRead More kids and grandkids to have the same opportunities that I had and that my parents had, but they don't and it's getting worse daily. SCOTUS and the Oligarchs have gutted citizen's basic rights. The legislature is creating circumstances which harm middle America and the poor. We the people need to regain control of our country. The only way we can do this is to put new people, with an agenda for the people, in power. I understand the skepticism, because politicians are not us and can't be trusted. They lie and do what's right for their backers and themselves. This is exactly why I'm supporting Marianne Williamson, because she is not that politician. She truly cares about the travesties occurring in our country and has chosen to focus her energy on this election. One which could put her in Washington, to represent us as an independent spirit and a force of power, to fight against the status quo. Because celebrities know and admire her, isn't a negative, it means they support her views also. Some are willing to produce and/or perform in an event - a way for her to raise money for a her campaign. Her war chest consists of $2600 maximum contribution per person. She will not take the big money because she wants to make this a people's campaign. She doesn't have the money of a Ted Lieu nor Wendy Greuel, but she has much more to offer than either of them will ever have, a no-strings attached, rational look at our country's modus operendi. Most of all, she has love in her heart, for all of us, which empowers her to stand up and for fight for us. That's why I'm going to the polls on June 3rd and casting my vote for Marianne Williamson to represent me in Washington. No, I'm not attached to her campaign. I just believe that if we keep sending the same people to represent us - how can we expect anything to change. PLEASE VOTE on JUNE 3rd. Have a voice in your government. It's more powerful than any amount of money... it's the only true power we have.
Emily Piemonte April 16, 2014 at 12:36 pm
I will VOTE for her!

Laudable goals, wrong solutions. Money is the root of much good as well as evil. "Child povertyRead More "is best addressed by preventing people who are unable to take care of their children... , from having children. Free, voluntary mass tubal ligation and vasectomies will go a long way to relieve misery, in this as well as 3rd world countries. "Open space, traffic relief and climactic changes" ??? ... again keep the population increase down. Less SUV's , and waste, less consumption, less problems, less pollution. Special interests? Whose interests are not special , people? Mine are and yours of course are not! MONEY acquired honestly reflects achievement and by enlarge it is and is usually left to all of us to enjoy by endowments like Huntington, Getty, Rockefeller, Ford, Carnegie, Guggenheim, Norton Simon, Disney, and numerous others. as even Broad. What have the homeless people done for you lately?

strange how we respond just as the terrorists desire us to. the media commemorates each incident asRead More if it were a new profit center to mine for every last click. whole populations now sit in fear of another 'something' about to happen, never again, fully safe like we were in the good old days of the cold war? once these bstrds hit us deep inside our own turf we have not become stronger, but rather 'hardened', emboldened in our delusions of ultimate superiority, no longer safe on our 'island of north america'. each of these events changes us all even imperceptably, forcing us to accept their motives, their ideals, their imam imposed concept of living. we act in unison, determined to show them we are not affected, yet that very demonstration reveals our inner need to respond, to re-affirm our own injury, each of those crowd-felt sympathies we all cling to, even if for the brief moment of our 'crowd'. be strong, and further, be alert, be conspicuous in manner in which you care for each other. shy not away from those who seek your death, but do not embrace them, as they fein no challenge to seek close to your demise.

This war on MJ began with Nixon and then Regan escalated it when he declared a War on Drugs. A warRead More we have been loosing and will continue to loose with the tactics our corrupt Government continues to use. Such as the one for Heroin. Since they can't beat it they decide to join it by becoming the LEGAL dealers. SO it is illegal to use heroin and you must stop taking that drug and switch over to the Government approved drug of Methadone. Ever see or hear of anyone getting off Methadone once they start. Well only if they are paying for it out of pocket and then can't afford it. Then the clinic does what they call an Administrative wean!!! Because after all if the dealer isn't getting paid you are not getting the drug!!! Now isn't that the way it is with any street dealer??? SO that is how the Government is handing the Heroin crisis in this country!!! Way to go pharmaceutical companies (Cooperate drug kingpins)_ SO now the question comes about medical Marijuana and the Federal Government does not want this because the big cooperate pharmaceutical companies have not devised a way in which they can have total control over this substance and financially rape every living soul in this county that would want it or need it. And so until this happens the Federal Governement will continue to fight against Marijuana being removed from the Class 1 drug list. Oh BTW just a little side note to all of you who continue t believe that you are living in the United States of America. You are not, we have become the Incorporated states of America. No longer a country where our government is one run by the people, of the people, or for the people!!!

I feel bad for the good people that will loose their jobs. The people who should loose their job isRead More the leaders of the company that have made decisions that have caused SCE rates to be one of the highest in the country. Well, this is what they call 'progress', folks. Think about it. Not long ago they installed theRead More 'smart meters', right? Well, with 'smart meters' you don't need meter readers, do you? So this has nothing at all to do with democrats or republicans. Let's stop going there. It's about cutting costs with technology. Remember when garbage trucks were 2 man units? I do. Those were back the days when the men manually hoisted the cans and dumped the garbage in the trucks. Well, now the trashing dumping is automated and only a driver is needed. Sorry, folks. That's called 'progress', like it or not. Those layed off garbage men and meter readers need to reinvent themselves and find other work in another industry. But let's not make this political. That's so absurd.

Mike- there is no hate here. actually a pathetic situation when one feels he is "owed"Read More something rather than earning it by working for it. Here's the story I posted this morning and was censored by PATCH Pistol Turned to ‘SubmachineRead More Gun’ By Clueless Media April 15, 2014 | Filed under Constitutional Issues, corruption,Culture,Culture Of Corruption,Democrats,Dumb Criminals,Gun control,Liberals,Media | Posted by Warner Todd Huston Once again we get proof of how mindless and clueless the media is, how they don’t fact check, but just mindlessly pass on each other’s bad work ad infinitum. This time it happened with a story about a criminal who used a .22 caliber pistol in a crime but one clueless reporter turned it into a “submachine gun” and hundreds of his mindless colleagues followed suit passing the lie on and on and on. Clueless reporter Darryl Holliday of DNAinfo Chicago, a website that caters to local news, reported on an incident that was perpetrated by a man from West Garfield Park who began wielding a .22 caliber pistol in a grocery store because he didn’t want to pay the 22 cents tax on a bottle of pop he was trying to buy. Holliday “reported” that the crook “pulled an Intratec submachine gun out of a Gucci satchel,” and in the next paragraph again claimed the piece was a “submachine gun” saying, “Officers arrived on the scene shortly after to find Shelton’s Gucci bag open on the counter as well as 15 bullets in the blue steel .22-caliber submachine gun–eight live rounds in one magazine, five in another and one in the chamber, according to court documents.” Of course, it is clear that reporter Holliday doesn’t have any idea what he’s rambling on about. The .22 caliber Intratec pistol is not a “submachine gun. It is a semi-automatic pistol like every other semi-auto pistol. A submachine gun is an automatic rifle that uses pistol cartridges instead of larger ones such as rifle or armor piercing cartridges. A one-hand-held version of this weapon is called a “machine pistol,” but it is also fully automatic. The Intratec pistol used in this crime is not a fully automatic weapon, however. It is semi-auto-meaning it fires only once when the trigger is pulled. It does not expel a stream of bullets like a fully automatic weapon does. Yet, as soon as this story went live on April 13, dozens of other so-called news outlets took up the claim that this dolt used a “submachine gun” in his crime. All one need do is put “Nahshon Shelton submachine gun” in any search engine and dozens of so-called news stories will be revealed saying that the criminal used a “submachine gun.” It all just shows that whenever you see a report on guns in the Old Media establishment, you should not trust it. They don’t even know the proper definitions of firearms terms and from there all their “facts” are suspect.

It can be annoying to get news from areas other than your own, however the new Patch is doing things differently, and show no evidence of changing it back.....my best advice would be to ignore stories not in your area, and to write your editor directly, and share your comments with those who can make changes.
